baba brahmeshwar nath temple bukar

Sanjay Kumar/Buxar:- Well, there are many miraculous temples in our country. Today we will tell you about a temple, whose miracle made Mohammad Ghazni turn back. This temple is in Brahmapur of Buxar district of Bihar. The distance of this temple from the district headquarters is 40 km. It is known as Brahmeshwar Nath Temple. According to mythology, the Shivling in this temple was established by Brahma ji. Information about this temple is also found in many Puranas. In Rudra Samhita of Shiva Mahapuran, this Shivling is the giver of Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. This is the reason why it is also called Manokamna Mahadev.

The main entrance of the temple faces west
The biggest specialty of Brahmeshwar Nath temple is that the main door of this temple faces west. Whereas the doors of other Shiva temples in the country face east. It is said that the door faces west because once the Muslim ruler Mohammad Ghazni came to Brahmapur to demolish the temple, the local people requested him not to demolish the temple and said that if you demolish the temple, Baba will destroy you.

Mohammad Ghazni had returned with his back to his feet
On the request of the people, Ghazni challenged Baba Brahmeshwar Nath and said that if the entrance of the temple turns towards the west overnight, he will leave the temple. The next day when he came to demolish the temple, he was stunned to see that the entrance of the temple had turned towards the west. After this, he left from there forever.

It is said that whoever comes to Brahmeshwar Nath’s court, his wishes are fulfilled. He is also called Manokamna Mahadev. It is said that the importance of Jalabhishek here is throughout the year. But the Jalabhishek of Kanwadis in Sawan has special importance. This is the reason that lakhs of people come to visit Baba Brahmeshwar Nath in the month of Sawan.
